Before using Allegra
Tell you doctor about all medications that you are taking and follow his recommendations before starting or stopping any medicines. Sometimes additional monitoring of your condition or dose adjustment may be needed while using Allegra in case you are taking antacids containing aluminum and magnesium, or st. John\'s wort. You should also inform him about any other medical conditions including heart problems (qt prolongation), kidney disease, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
Directions
Your doctor should provide you with instructions about using Allegra. Besides that a special leaflet comes with the package. Read it carefully. Allegra is taken by mouth, usually two times a day on an empty stomach or with food. Antacids (containing aluminum or magnesium) should not be taken within 2 hours of taking the medicine as they can slow the absorption of Allegra.
Keep this medication at room temperature away from heat, moisture and light out of reach of children.
Use Allegra according to your schedule but if you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the previous one. Double dose won’t help.
Do not share this prescription drug with other people because it may harm their health.
Cautions
Do not take Allegra more often, increase or decrease the dosage without consulting with your doctor. It may be dangerous to operate machinery or drive a car until you know exactly your reaction to this medicine. It is not recommended to take much alcohol while taking Allegra because this can cause certain side effects. Sometimes dizziness may appear.
Allegra may interact with some other medicines and cause unwanted side effects. Tell your doctor about all other drugs you are taking.

Possible side effects
Certain side effects may occur while taking Allegra which later should go away during treatment. They include back pain, cough, fever, stomach upset, menstrual cramps, stuffy nose, earache, or dizziness. In rare cases an allergic reaction to this medication may occur with the following symptoms: severe dizziness, rash, itching, swelling, or trouble breathing. If you feel that any of these side effects are bothersome or/and continue for a long time, check with your doctor.
